Belgian Championship 1 Roeselare

Fantastic Round 1 of Belgian Championship 2018
After a much too long winter the weather forecast promised us a beautiful weekend and 30 drivers made their inscription for RCR Roeselare.
All-touch Saturday the weather was super, Sunday morning no sun but (a little) rain, so real racing started in the afternoon with the 3th qualify.
The 1/10 drivers went on where they stopped last year, in the best mood and all 7 went direct to the finals.
After ½ hour close racing in the final Michael took the win with 98 laps followed by Eric (96 laps) and Cedric (94 laps), the fastest man on track but had some problems.

1/8 Elektro
6 drivers where present at the race: 3 PAN’s and 3 MOD’s.
They all drove together, so obviously this circuit is the better for the suspended MOD’s.
Kris took the win at the MOD’s and Bert won the PAN race.

1/8
With our EC Champion Robin D’hondt, former electro world champ Gunther Van Staey, 2017 Belgian Champ
Augustin Mejor, Florida winternats winner John Lenaers and local ace Nico Vandewynckel it promised to be a hot
racing day.
Not refueling lead Gunther to the pole in the deciding qualif, followed by direct qualifiers Robin, Nico and Huques all
with 20 laps.
Coming over from the semi’s: John, Augustin, Bert, Kjento, Daan and Raphaël.
Using a different fuel strategy and Robin making a tire change made that no prediction could be made until the last
minute of the race.
So after a very exciting race Robin came in first with 118 laps followed by Gunther also 118 laps (with no tires at all).
3th Place on the podium was taken by Augustin. Due to a good pace in the end of the race Daan came in 4th.

See You in Bierset on May 27.
